My best pic till date

This is my best picture till date...shot in a simple auto mode..I feel this is the best I could have ever done...This is my 1 year old son Aakshun

Night Shots

These are 2 of the night shots that I recently tried. Both were shot in shutter speed priority mode.
The one on the left was exposed for 4 seconds without a tripod !!! Look at the light trail created by passing vehicles.

This one was shot in the evening while still there was some light. Exposed for 1.6 seconds with exposure compensation of -0.7.

I think both these shots came out beautifullty...but now cant wait to buy a tripod...

Moon

Well, there it is... Moon as seen from my S3 IS...
The pic has been taken without any tripod on Shutter speed priority mode, as far as I can remember I exposed it for 1 sec. On spot focus mode. Initially I tried with center weighted average mode but that did not work too well coz of lots of dark black sky... and as can be seen spot focus worked well...

Design of Human Life

When we are born we are zero on experience and very rich on energy. As a small child we do lots the running around, playing, trying different things, which slowly enhances our learning about the world around us. At the same time when we are experimenting with different things, our elders keep telling us what to do and what not to do… which is generally based on their experiences, their learning’s. Being a kid how many times to we give heed to their advice? Probably zilch…we are full of energies and we have firm belief that we are different and we are gonna change the world…so to say.

As we start growing up, time teaches us lots of things and we start to gain experience. But there are lots of things we still have not experienced. Actually, every stage of life comes with new kinds of experiences; hence someone who has inhabited this planet longer is likely to have more experience. But the design of human brain is such that it generally tries to assume that mine is gonna be a different case! I am probably better equipped, am smarter and whatever happened to others will not happen to me coz ultimately I am different! Hence, we keep fighting our battles in our very own different (yet similar) ways. And, based on my experience, more often than not we end up realizing that what others said was probably true…But by the time we realize that others were right, we are more often than not, in the same place where our elders were. And one interesting fact is when we start to mature we have tons of experience but we are low on energy. This state is complete opposite of the state when we started our journey of life.
Having seen the world for long time, we probably know what it takes to tackle life better. But does any one gain from this knowledge? We ourselves cannot coz we gained this knowledge after spending precious time and we cannot go back in time and apply what we learned. Youngsters who are in that stage of life want to do things their way so they don’t care. If this is the design of human life why is it like this?

Woolmer Dead

If you are blogging first time this is probably not the best title to start with...but I was compelled to do this. Not by anyone in particular but may be by the circumstances...

I am an Indian cricket fan who loves to see India win. 17 March was not a good day for Indian cricket as India lost to Bangladesh. This was like veterans loosing to toddlers.

Nothing worse could have happened to Indian cricket. At the same time when India was loosing to Bangladesh, there was another match going on Pakistan vs Ireland. Pakistan lost to Ireland in a similar disaster like the one India suffered. Being a true India fan I was really unhappy about India’s loss but being a true Indian my agony was somewhat reduced by the news of Pakistan crashing out of world cup. 2 losses in a row for Pakistan, wow, how many times do you see such an abysmal performance from a big team like Pakistan.

Today is 19 March, my morning started with the news “Woolmer Dead”. Woolmer was coach of Pakistan cricket team. I do not know under what circumstances the man died. All I can relate it to is to the recent loss Pakistan suffered in World cup. If at all this is the actual cause of the death, is it not too bad a news for the game. Forget the game for a little while, would I be happy when Pakistan lost the match had I known that this can result into something as bad as this. Thinking from the point of view of the Irish who made the last runs for his country, would he be happy at this point knowing that his runs resulted in death of a person. Or for that matter had he known that this is what can happen would he have made the winning runs? Obviously, I am not trying to say that he is responsible for this. The sole responsibility, I feel, lies with the people obsessed (not fans) with the game. They are the ones who are responsible for such a thing.

What’s killing me is to hear people say, similar should happen to Indian coach or players. Have we become savages? We are wishing for death of people who are not able to please us? Have they done any harm to us or for that matter did the promise us that they will win? They are mere mortals like us. They are trying their best. Can’t we think how many times we ourselves loose when we desperately wanted to win? Did we kill ourselves for that? No we did not coz we at that time we find out some excuse or the other and move on. Lets put our energies together for a better cause than wishing bad things for others. Lets be humans.
